UA Record™, MapMyRun, Endomondo and MyFitnessPal Unlock Fitness Features for Apple’s Most Personal Device Ever
Baltimore, MD (April 24, 2015) – Today, Under Armour Connected Fitness launched new app updates that bring fitness tracking capabilities to Apple Watch. UA Record, MapMyRun, Endomondo and MyFitnessPal, the complete Under Armour Connected Fitness product suite, are available now in the Apple Watch App Store, in the App Store on iPhone, or by updating to the latest version. These app updates signify the importance of expanding the Under Armour platform to new devices globally.
With more than 130 million global members, Under Armour Connected Fitness is the world’s largest health and fitness digital community, enabling the brand to provide unparalleled health data and insight. The suite of Under Armour Connected Fitness apps for Apple Watch provide a unique set of features to help athletes of all levels reach their health and fitness goals.
- Track activity: The MapMyRun and Endomondo fitness-tracking apps allow athletes to start, pause and save a workout, as well as view real-time performance metrics during an individual workout or activity. Select data points are displayed on the watch face while the apps are in use, including distance, duration and calories burned. A post-workout overview is provided upon completion and saved directly in the respective Under Armour Connected Fitness account.
- Stay accountable: The MyFitnessPal app for Apple Watch provides a quick dashboard of personalized daily nutrition. Updates including daily calories remaining, macronutrient and micronutrient goal progress and extra calories they’ve earned for the day by walking will all be seen directly from the Watch display.
- Get inspired: Along with fitness tracking capabilities, UA Record will provide additional social interaction through Apple Watch with enhanced notifications. Consumers can see photos, workout details, status posts from friends or world-class athletes and like or comment on social activity using voice input.
“When we launched our first mobile app more than seven years ago, we knew the App Store ecosystem would exponentially expand our reach and our ability to help people achieve their health and fitness goals.” Robin Thurston, Chief Digital Officer. “We’re excited for Apple Watch to continue to deliver our experiences in a deep and meaningful way with the shared mission to make all athletes better and enable everyone to have an active lifestyle.”
If authorized, all four apps will send information back to the Health app on iPhone, a dashboard of your health and fitness data. These updated apps are visually optimized for the custom screen sizes of Apple Watch. At launch, the apps will work in tandem with an iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6 or 6 Plus. To get started with these new features, download the new UA Record, MapMyRun, Endomondo and MyFitnessPal apps from the Apple Watch App Store or App Store on iPhone, or by simply updating the latest version.
