For the first time in Under Armour history, a brand new shoe debuted outside of the United States with the help of the KIA NBA MVP and 2015 champ, Stephen Curry. The Curry Two, the much anticipated update to the Curry One named after the basketball superstar, was unveiled in Shanghai, China, by the reigning league MVP himself on September 8, 2015.
On that very day, we kicked off the “Train like Stephen Curry” challenge for Endomondo users. The top 5 challenge participants who log the most active minutes at the end of 30 days will be entered to win a pair of Curry Two shoes before the public on-sale date of October 24.
The Curry Two shoe reveal is timed to coincide with the opening of a new UA brand house in Shanghai. The shoe reveal and UA brand house opening concluded Curry’s five-day tour of five Asian cities, including Tokyo, Manila, Beijing, Chongqing and Shanghai. The tour, dubbed “The UA Roadshow featuring Stephen Curry,” is designed to connect Stephen with the people and culture of these diverse countries through up close and personal interactions. Stephen will showcase his relentless dedication to getting better and devotion to helping players everywhere realize their potential both on and off the court. Curry will host basketball training and skills camps for local kids at each tour stop.
“Together with Under Armour, I’m looking forward to sharing my energy and commitment to basketball with the fans and basketball players in Asia who will leave their mark on the game,” said Curry. “China and the Philippines have a rich cultural connection to basketball and I’ve heard the game is becoming more popular in Japan by the day. This will be an unforgettable experience and we have some special things planned for some of the best basketball fans in the world.”
