Every feature on Endomondo is meant to keep you motivated and help you reach your goals. Stats, training plans, audio coach…each has its own merits and we love hearing that you enjoy working out with them. There is one feature which we think doesn’t get enough attention, even though every time you get one, it’s sure to put a smile on your face. We’re talking about pep talks.
For those of you who haven’t tried them out yet, pep talks are motivating, real-time messages read out loud to the person you send them to while they’re working out. Sending one is easy. All you have to do is go to your news feed and see which one of your Endomondo friends is currently tracking an activity.

We said that pep talks make people smile, but did you know that when you smile, you release endorphins? Multiple studies have shown that these awesome neurotransmitters are triggered when the muscles on your face form a smiling expression.
And smiling doesn’t only contribute to that coveted endorphin boost; it can also help alleviate stress and pain during a workout. Here, even faking it will do the trick, but when you get a great pep talk during a workout, you don’t need to fake it, do you?
As with all good things, when you share them, they comes back around. Think of a pep talk as a kind of karmic fitness feature, and remember that the more you send, the more likely you are to get some sent back to you. Not only will you be spreading the motivation, you’ll probably hear a great story from your friend about what they were up to when you sent it!

We want to hear those fun, inspiring, endorphin-boosting pep talks that you’ve been sending and getting. Share them with us and yours could be the winner of the “Best 2015 Pep Talk”. After the entry round is over, we’ll share the best nominees on Facebook and have the Endomondo community vote for their favorites. Once all the votes are counted, we’ll announce the winners on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter! We’ll select the finalists and submit them to a vote.
