#Tagging #Update

Workout tagging
It’s great to see that so many of you have started using our tagging feature. Based on the usage of tags and the feedback we have received, we’ve made some changes to the feature. We hope this will make it easier for you to tag your workouts and filter the tags in the future.

We have updated tagging so it follows the standard of #tagging known from Twitter and Facebook. Spaces and special characters in tags are no longer allowed (previously allowed on the website) – tags can now contain only letters and numbers. This ensures that the tags on the website and in the app will be the same and work elsewhere when shared. As a result, you can tag your workouts using #tags, easily share it on Facebook, Twitter and other sites – and benefit from the #tag filters these sites have.

We know that some Endomondo users had existing tags with spaces and other special characters. In order to make sure that your old tags are compatible with our new rules, we have corrected all the tags that you have added to your workouts so they follow these standards. If your tags contained a space or a special character, these were deleted and we merged the tag into one word. For example, “#Lunar Glide 5” will now be “#LunarGlide5” and “#Trail-run” was changed to “#TrailRun” and the same rule goes for any other non-letter/number character. Tags that consisted of only special characters and numbers, e.g. “#50/36/365” have been removed.

If you are a Premium member, you can filter your statistics by one or more tags. This allows you to analyze your performance for your #trail runs, or see how many miles you’ve logged in your favorite running #shoes. You can read more about how the tagging works in this FAQ.

  1. I added a wrong tag and I want to remove it for god, not only from a single practice. Is it possible to completely remove a created tag?

    1. Hi Jesus,
Unfortunately this is not possible for the time being.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

      Best regards,

  2. Overall this is probably a change for the better , just a little unfortunate that the proper version wasn’t the first version to get released for public use (beta testing should have been done perhaps?). Now to go and update all of my 2.5km and 7.5km tags which have turned into 25km and 75km runs !
