Endomondo Included in New Facebook Timeline Fitness Apps Section

Timeline 1 Exciting news: We’re happy to share with you that Endomondo is among the apps you can now add to sections on your Facebook Timeline. Facebook has improved timeline and the About page to make it easier for you to organize and showcase activity from different types of apps – and fitness apps will have a designated section. For you guys, this means improvements to the way stories from Endomondo apps are displayed on your timeline.

Facebook is obviously an important partner for us – both in terms of spreading the word about Endomondo and in terms of driving engagement among our users. Our Open Graph integration has generated a total of almost 2 billion impressions on Facebook for us! We don’t even want to think about what that kind of exposure would cost us elsewhere. We also see that when users share their workouts on Facebook, the likelihood of motivating comments is much higher, and that drives up engagement.

We’re continuing to make updates to our Facebook integration based on user feedback to make it easy for you to share your runs, rides and walks on your timeline and find motivation to workout more.

If you have any feedback on what we should do next when it comes to Facebook integration, please share it in the comments. Thanks!

What I’d love to see is Google+ integration! I see that Facebook is still the biggest player when it comes to Social Networks, but G+ also has huge sport communities (e.g. a running community with like 10,000 members in their Community section). I don’t know in how far apps and other stuff similar to Facebook can be developed there, but it’d be awesome if you could take a look.

Something I’ve noticed is my workouts, although still automatically uploaded, appear to have an unchangeable permission which means it is not shown on my wall. The only solution is to then go on the laptop and select ‘display on timeline’ That’s obviously not a practical solutionwhen i am using the app on my phone away from home.

Is there a way I can add specific comments on top of the timeline post ? If not please add this feature it will be more meaningful as one can share a story about that particular run experience. Apps like Runkeeper are able to do this.

Does it only work for running & cycling? I do a heap of walking, but only cycling is showing up in facebook at the moment.

Walking now comes up on my “homepage”, but in the more>fitness area it’s just cycling.

Pardon me, but this is a complete and utter disaster. I DONT WANT IT! I just went out for my first bike ride of the spring, with Endomondo Pro, and then punched the Facebook button, as usual. I expected my friends to chime in with comments on my cycling prowess!

Unfortunately, the “post” is stuck in a section of my timeline called “Activities” which is visible to my friends, but never is shown on my friends’ newsfeeds. So, they are completely unaware of it. And, the entry is not really a separate post at all. For example, it does not have its own separate visibility controls. And this not-really-a-post does not say much, and does not have a map. So, even if my friends went to to my profile and saw this, they would have to click on it and go to the Endomodo website to see where I rode.

As I said, this is a major, major screw up. Unless it can be fixed in a hurry, I’ll be switching to MapMyRide. I WANT MY OLD ENDOMONDO BACK!!!!!!!

In your activity log for Endomondo you can change who see’s it and whether it shows up on your wall. For some reason it did the same thing so I had to change them

there are many things with which I’m uncomfortable with.
1- when I click on share it allows to share in facebook, but if i share it once, than never can I share it again, why? sometimes i need to delete what i share from facebook. after that i should share it again in facebook but cant, because you allow me to share it only once, why?

2- I dont like your map trails because on mobile phone I cant see my route exactly, the line is very thin, the route line in other softwares are too much seemable

Is there a way to post your workout again, so that my friends can see the map? My smartphone died due to low battery and my workout got published as ongoing. I removed it from my activities and managed somehow to show up on Endomondo as finished, but I cannot post share it again as the option is greyed out saying that I have already shared it once.

Hi all, i have a question for you: at this moment my workouts are posted in Facebook under the option “allowed on Timeline”, but i’d like to see it under the option “shown on Timeline” automatically (every workout). There’s a way for to do it?

    2 problems right now:

First: Skating is not showing up in the fitness section.
Second: I always want my workouts to show up in my timeline, not just the activity feed, I have to do this manually now.

Are these issues going to be fixed?
